MILKWEED

A rosewood cajon and a well-worn guitar crossed paths in 2014, forming the foundation for Austin-based acoustic duo Howard & Skye‘s grassroots Americana sound.

Fourteen months later, after innumerable gigs, late-night songwriting benders, and extensive recording sessions in their home-based Thirsty Hog studio, Jonathan Howard’s and Blueflower Skye’s CD Milkweed was completed.

Laced with an insight and sensitivity reminiscent of the singer-songwriters of the mid to late 60’s and early 70’s, the unflinching lyricism of Howard & Skye’s Milkweed is tempered by a musical grit and drive derived from the Blues and Country roots of the South.
