In spite the fact that Reto Burrell has been on the road for many years now, he still is Europe’s best kept secrets if you talk about singer-songwriters in the Alt Country, folk, roots rock and pop scene.
The in Lucerne, Switzerland born musician, producer, and singer-songwriter, with American roots, developed his passion for music early on as a child. Burrell was guitarist and singer in various rock bands like the hardcore punk band Profax and alternative rock band Släm. In 1997 Burrell decided to continue as a solo artist. After listing to Burrell’s debut album Eleven Songs and Foolpark Session (1999) the German label Blue Rose Records recognized Burrell’s enormous talent. After starting his own independent label Echopark Music Records, Burrell was part of some pretty interesting side projects. With the Country Helvetia project he won the Prix Walo Award in the category “Best Swiss Country Act”.
In twenty years Burrell released eight critical acclaimed solo albums. He wrote an extensive range of songs, has an excellent stage presence and collaborated with countless international artists in the scene such as Tift Merritt, Aaron Sterling (John Mayer), Michael Rhodes (Joe Bonamassa), Jonathan Ahrens (Jewel) and Phil Parlapiano (Chuck Prophet).
